The Meat Industry Trust has made R2,000,000 available in grants to support emerging farmers in strengthening their livestock operations.
Applicants must be
- Older than 18 and under 35 years of age as at 31 December 2026
- From a previously disadvantaged group
- Operate an existing registered farming business
- Have access to land for at least five years (ownership is not required)
- Able to provide financial statements or bank account evidence showing that the enterprise is operational.
Only cattle, sheep and goat farmers are eligible.
Preference will be given to women.
Closing date: 15 November 2026.
Applicants who have not received communication by 28 February 2027 will be regarded as unsuccessful.
